Flocks of lorikeets roam over the countryside from one flowering tree to another, looking for the nectar of the flowers – all sorts of gum trees (eucalypts). There are thirty to forty in each flock here at Waukivory, and they’re very aggressive birds which screech and squabble while feeding. Their bright colours flash and glitter in the forest trees they descend upon, but very rarely enter home gardens.
