This painting was done at Waukivory. There are two grey gum sentinels on the crest of a hill next to a farm road. It was winter, where the last rays of sunlight come to a sudden end and darkness descends quickly. You could feel it was the end of day even though there was still light and blue sky and the sunlight still highlighting the leaves in the large gums.
