This is a painting of early dawn at Pacific Palms. The sun is rising with a gorgeous golden glow, and wind is coming off the sea fluttering the leaves in the trees. The trees are on a fairly poor knoll, and they are quite rough barked just before they shed into a dress of many colours. They were very twisted and gnarled, being on poor soil and subject to a lot of wind.
